26th May 2023One to One Africa presents at the 2023 SAAIDS Conference in Durban
23rd June 2023This week, the 15th AIDSImpact Conference took place in Stockholm, Sweden and, One to One Africa was represented by our Head of Programmes, Dr Emma Chademana.
She used the platform to outline how One to One Africa mitigated the various consequences of Covid-19 lockdowns. These strategies included:
▪️ With the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns resulting in a decline of the use of services for the prevention of HIV transmission, One to One Africa made use of innovative strategies to ensure continuity of HIV service delivery in Last Mile Communities. Dr Emma will be outlining how One to One Africa leveraged digital technology to extend the reach of Community Health Workers (CHWs) in order to improve their effectiveness and enhance the quality of care provided to communities.
▪️ The Covid-19 pandemic also paused all of One to One Africa’s in-person programmes, leaving many children without early stimulation which is key to improving developmental outcomes. Subsequently, One to One Africa adapted our Bright Start Programme to ensure that mothers and CHWs could continue to provide neurodevelopmental stimulation to their children through the use of digital interventions.
One to One Africa is proud to be a part of this year’s AIDSImpact Conference which works to address issues related to HIV and AIDS prevention, treatment and care.
